Scandella Apartment

Onore, Italy, 1989

Design proposal. The task was the redesign of a living room for a couple with a passion for fish tanks. The ogival, or fish shape tank, is the catalyzing element in the space from which other elements take form. Below the tank, Tv and sound equipment are located. A dropped ceiling marks the entrance to the living room space from the outside and the fish tank acts as a permeable separator to the main space. Three sliding curvilinear storage containers, made of stretched fabric and reinforced by thin metal frames, line up on one side of the room, along the wall that divides the living room from the kitchen. The lighting, strategically located, accents the new elements of the space.
