Design competition. The site of this restricted design competition is located about three miles away from Bryce Canyon in Utah. The program guidelines called for the development of a resort to include a range of 100 to 120 self-served units with a nearby multifunctional lodge serving as restaurant, communal lounge, spa and other assembly functions. The program asked also for the location of a commercial area right off Route 12, for providing food, the sale of general goods, a gas station and parking. The design has been developed thru several typological studies. Clustering and density are the final informative elements of the project which derivates from the interpretation of the unique natural landscape of Bryce Canyon.
